چکیده
Background: Metabolic syndrome (Mets) is a risk factor for cardiovascular, chronic lung, liver and kidney diseases. Hypercalcaemia, hypomagnesaemia elevated C-reactive protein (CRP) produce various complications such as cardiac arrythmia, renal stones, atherosclerosis, Diabetes Mellitus, Obesity etc. Some researchers suggested that hypercalcaemia, CRP occur in patients. Objectives: To measure serum calcium, magnesium levels Methods: This cross sectional study was conducted from March 2019 to July 2020 the Department of Physiology, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University(BSMMU), Shahbag, Dhaka. For this study, 30 female metabolic patients aged 25 45 year, Outpatient department Endocrinology BSMMU were selected. comparison, age gender matched apparently healthy subjects control. Serum calcium measured by Colorimetric method Immunoturbidimetric method. Independent sample‘t’ test performed Mann-Whitney U CRP. Results: Mean (p £0.05 median value £0.01) significantly higher, lower (p>0.05) but not significant than Conclusion: may conclude are associated with J Bangladesh Soc Physiol. 2022, June; 17(1): 14-20

Background: Several components of metabolic syndrome (MetS) facilitate its diagnosis, including abdominal obesity, hyperlipidemia, high blood pressure, and insulin resistance. The production of tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) and interleukin 6 (IL-6) seem to be associated with MetS components. The aim of this study was to evaluate the correlation between the serum levels...
متن کاملLipid Profile and Leptin Levels in Patients with Metabolic Syndrome
Abstract Background and Objective: Metabolic syndrome called a cluster of several metabolic disorders is associated with increased risk of cardiovascular diseases. Genetic differences in leptin receptor gene are related with the concentration and activity of leptin in that these discrepancies can influence lipid levels. We aimed to determine the association between the leptin receptor gene p...

Background: Pre-eclampsia along with its complications seems to be one of the major causes of maternal morbidity and mortality. Despite numerous studies, the etiology of pre-eclampsia has not yet been fully elucidated. According to recent studies changes in the level of blood trace elements can be an adverse event in human and animal pregnancy. The present study determines whether maternal seru...

Serum magnesium levels were measured by atomic absorption spectrophotometry in 46 malnourished and 12 healthy children, aged 3 months to 5 years. The nutritional status of children was classified in relation to weight for age and height for age using the Indian Academy of Pediatrics and the Waterlow classifications, respectively. NCHS data were used for the purposes of comparison. Serum magnesi...
